ADRENAL FATIGUE IS AN IMPORTANT ISSUE IN CHRONIC CONDITIONS. HOW IS IT DIAGNOSED?
If you have a leaky gut, thyroid condition, autoimmune disease, depression or any other chronic condition, your adrenals are usually effected and it is called 'adrenal fatigue syndrome'.
Diagnosis of adrenal fatigue is important because if the adrenals are affected, they should be cared and healed as a part of the treatment .
Saliva tests are important for many reasons :
1) Saliva test confirm adrenal fatigue syndrome.
2) It shows degree of adrenal damage.
3) It helps selections of adrenal supporting supplements.
4 ) Most importantly it is advisable to repeat saliva test after six months. You can compare second saliva test with first one and if second saliva test shows adrenals are healed then you do not have to continue with adrenal supplements. If saliva test is not done and the adrenal is treated with speculations,it is difficult to confirm adrenal fatigue and harder to know when to stop supplements.

DO YOU HAVE DEPRESSION, MOOD SWINGS, ANXIETY, LOSS OF LIBIDO, ETC?
YOUR HYPOTHYROIDISM COULD BE CAUSE OF IT.
HERE IS THE EVIDENCE!!!
Krysiak, Drosdzol-Cop, Skrzypulec-Plinta , Okopien published their work in Clinical Endocrinology Journal ( 2015 Oct 1. doi: 10.1111/cen.12956.) did confirm these already well known facts.
The study included four groups of young women: euthyroid women with Hashimoto's thyroiditis (Group 1), women with nonautoimmune subclinical hypothyroidism (Group 2), women with autoimmune subclinical hypothyroidism (Group 3) and healthy euthyroid females without thyroid autoimmunity (Group 4)
Beyond measuring serum hormone levels and thyroid antibody titres, all enrolled women completed questionnaires evaluating female sexual function (Female Sexual Function Index - FSFI) and the presence and severity of depressive symptoms (Beck Depression Inventory-Second Edition - BDI-II).
The mean total FSFI score was lower in women with autoimmune hypothyroidism than in the remaining groups of women, as well as lower in Groups 1 and 2 than in Group 4. Compared to Group 4, three domains (sexual desire, lubrication and sexual satisfaction) were lower in Group 1, four domains (desire, arousal, lubrication and dyspareunia) in Group 2 and all FSFI domain scores in Group 3. The total BDI-II score was higher in Groups 1 and 2 than in Group 4, as well as higher in Group 3 than in the other groups of women
Authors concluded that both thyroid autoimmunity and mild thyroid failure, particularly if they occur together, may negatively affect female sexual function and depressive symptoms. ( Ref PUBMED © 2015 John Wiley & Sons Ltd Publisher)
I found thyroid deficiency may be subtle, hidden and mimics many conditions, like depression, anxiety, mood swings, brain fog, memory problems, loss of libido, infertility, weight loss, skin problems, fatigue ,digestive issues, chronic pain and many others.
Unfortunately many physicians will prescribe powerful toxic medications to mask the symptoms without going deeper to find the ROOT. So, patients are diagnosed wrong and treated wrongly with powerful toxic drugs which may mask the symptoms but patient's real problem remains uncovered and untreated. . If the root cause is not treated patient will not be healed permanently and the damage will continue . Unnecessary medications are adding problems on top of it, with all their side effects. Most of times patients are given multiple medications to treat side effects of each other.
One common example is patient with depression due to hypothyroidism is given antidepressant . Patient's real issue (hypothyroidism) is ignored. Patient is labeled as a depressed and patient is made to believe it. If patient is not responding to one antidepressant ,another antidepressant is added, giving nothing but serious side-effects of medications. Irony is problems with hypothyroidism remain and the damage to patient continue.
Masking symptoms is a bandage technique. If one symptom is suppressed the disease with come with another symptoms . Proper testing of thyroid is mandatory in chronic conditions and in long term non resolving symptoms. This provides correct diagnosis for non resolving health conditions, ,prevents further damage to body, and prevents side effects of unnecessary medications and procedures.

LEAKY GUT SYNDROME MAY BE THE CAUSE AND EFFECT OF MANY ADVERSE HEALTH ISSUES :
Dr. Tahir MD Holistic & Integrative Medicine - Natural, Alternative & Functional Approach. Rochester & Syracuse
The gastrointestinal tract, the gut, is very important in health maintaining and disease protection, for many good reasons;
1 ) We eat, whenever whether it be healthy food or unhealthy toxins, they must first contact our gut. Our gut is the first defense for removing harmful toxins and microbes out of our body. It is also an important organ to make sure nutrition is absorbed completely .
2 ) The gut is also very important in our immunity and our body's self defense.
3) In addition, the gastrointestinal tract also has the second largest nerve tissue after brain and is also very sensitive to emotions and stress.
Taking care of your gastrointestinal track is very crucial in maintaining good health, and in treating and preventing many diseases .
Here are some tips on how to protect your gut and keep it healthy:
- Eat healthy non-toxic food, preferably organic with no chemicals.
- Eat small amounts. Chew food properly so your stomach and intestine do not have to perform this job.
- Drink water. At least one third of the food should be water.
- Do not eat in stress . Enjoy food and have happy relaxing thoughts.
- Focus on eating because your digestive enzymes are released better if you focus on
eating food rather than doing other things like watching TV when eating.
- Eat slowly and enjoy the taste of food rather than filling the stomach quickly.
- Have proper nutrition to nourish your gut. Probiotics are important. Certain vitamins, nutrition and supplements are important as well.
- Dr Tahir has developed detoxifying massage to eliminate toxins out of your gut and your body. At our Holistic Center we also have gut and liver detoxifying protocols to take heavy metals and toxins out.
- If you have any gut symptoms or indigestion, heart burn, diarrhea, constipation , abdominal cramps , you should see a Functional Holistic Physician immediately for assessment. As you know our Gastrointestinal Track is our gatekeeper and healthy filtering system in our body and if this gate breaks it will allow many harmful and dangerous substances to go into our body.

Chronic Lyme Disease. CDC acknowledges to some extent.
From CDC web site:
"Approximately 10 to 20% of patients treated for Lyme disease with a recommended 2–4 week
course of antibiotics will have lingering symptoms of fatigue, pain, or joint and muscle aches.
In some cases, these can last for more than 6 months. Although often called "chronic Lyme disease," this condition
is properly known as "Post-treatment Lyme Disease Syndrome" (PTLDS).
The exact cause of PTLDS is not yet known. Most medical experts believe that the
lingering symptoms are the result of residual damage to tissues and the immune
system that occurred during the infection. Similar complications and
"auto–immune" responses are known to occur following other infections, including
Campylobacter (Guillain-Barre syndrome), Chlamydia (Reiter's syndrome), and
Strep throat (rheumatic heart disease). In contrast, some health care providers
tell patients that these symptoms reflect persistent infection with Borrelia
burgdorferi. Recent animal studies have given rise to questions that require
further research, and clinical studies to determine the cause of PTLDS in humans
are ongoing.........
if you have been treated for Lyme disease and still feel
unwell, see your doctor to discuss how to relieve your suffering. Your doctor
may want to treat you in ways similar to patients who have fibromyalgia or
chronic fatigue syndrome"

HERBS TO MAKE YOUR SKIN, HAIR AND NAILS BEAUTIFUL
Nearly everyone wants beautiful looking skin, hair and nails. Here are few herbs which can help you to achieve this naturally:
-Rosemary invigorates the scalp and promotes hair growth: Rosemary oil can be massaged into the scalp. It can also be added to your shampoo to stimulate your hair follicles, encouraging growth and preventing hair loss. Note that regular use of rosemary can make your hair darker.
-Neem to treat blemishes, eczema and dandruff: Neem, a cornerstone of Ayurvedic tradition for ages, is a great skin treatment for acne, eczema, psoriasis, dandruff and other conditions of the skin because it’s antibacterial. Use the oil for dry skin, and the powder mixed with water for oily skin.
-Turmeric helps to make skin fresh and glowing. Mix turmeric with coconut oil and apply it to your face like a mask for radiant, soft skin. This application is also suppose to help arrest the growth of unwanted hair.
-Evening Primrose to reduce skin inflammation and strengthen hair and nails: Apply the oil directly to your skin, or take capsules internally for healthy hair and nails. Evening Primrose is rich in Gamma Linoleic Acid (GLA), an essential fatty acid with anti- inflammatory properties.
-Sage helps to deepen brunette shades of hair and tone skin: Sage is an astringent herb, making it ideal for use as a facial toner for oily skin. Just infuse the leaves in boiling water for 15 minutes, strain and mix with equal parts cider vinegar. It can also be used to deepen brunette hair. Place a few sage leaves in 2 cups of water and let it sit overnight, then use it as a leave-in rinse after shampooing.

Evidence mounts for autism – toxic womb connection
Articles suggesting that toxins in the environment may be behind the astronomical rise in the incidence of autism have been accumulating for years, such as in the following:
- Brain Drain: Could Environmental Chemicals Cause Autism?
- Autism: Do Environmental Factors Play a Role in Causation?
- and this website dedicated completely to Autism and Toxins.
Recent findings by researchers at the Harvard School of Public Health include the following:
After analyzing data from the Nurses’ Health Study II, HSPH researchers found that pregnant women living in the 20% of areas with the highest levels of diesel and mercury pollution had double the risk of having a child with autism compared with women living in the 20% of areas with the lowest levels of pollution. In areas with the highest 20% of lead, manganese and methylene chloride, the risk of having a child with autism went up 50%. (See the full report here.)
If you have concerns about your exposure to toxic chemicals and their possible effect on you or your loved ones, make an appointment with Dr. Tahir using this contact form.

Bio-identical Hormones:What are they? Do you need them?
Hormones affect how your body functions and how you feel because they “give orders” to your cells to do various things. Lack or excess of these hormones can cause symptoms and diseases. When we age, the production of some of our hormones such as thyroid, estrogen, progesterone and testosterone may decrease and by a feedback mechanism, some other hormones may increase. This imbalance may cause many symptoms and can even cause some diseases. Blood, saliva and urine testing may be needed to discover these changes. Replacing deficient hormones can break the feedback and return hormonal activity to normal, thus improving your health and vitality. You may feel younger and may even reverse some of the changes that have occurred with aging.
There are many products available to replace these deficient hormones. It is important to choose the products that are similar to the natural hormones in our bodies, so our bodies recognize them as one of their own and not foreign. If you take unnatural hormones, it is possible that they might produce an unnatural reaction and cause new diseases. Watch the two videos below to learn more about this:
